Increasing African American and urban voter registration, education, and participation through outreach to targeted communities in California. We've registered over 175,000 voters and counting since 2002!
On behalf of the African American Voter Registration, Education and Participation Project (African American Voter REP), thank you for registering to vote and exercising the fundamental obligation of citizenship. Today is election day, and your opportunity to make a difference.
The mayoral runoff election in Compton needs your voice. AAVREP has endorsed Mayor Aja Brown in her re-election bid, because she is turning Compton around and needs your support to keep the momentum going.
The special congressional election in District 34 needs your voice as well. This district stretches from downtown Los Angeles to Boyle Heights and incorporates Highland Park, Eagle Rock and Koreatown. AAVREP has endorsed Assemblyman Jimmy Gomez for this race, because he has a track record of service to the community and will serve us well in Washington.
From winning the right to vote – to electing the first person of color president – YOUR VOTE MATTERS! It’s an indispensable tool of progress and empowerment.
If you are eligible to vote in Compton or District 34, please VOTE by 8:00 p.m. today, Tuesday, June 6th.
